A police training centre was destroyed following several explosions in southern Thailand this morning.

The blast reportedly obliterated police evidence files from 2018 to 2023. There were also reportedly 10 sacks of ammonium nitrate gunpowder and deteriorated 40mm ammunition that were destroyed.

No injuries were reported in the explosion, which happened at around 9:30 am local time.

Police said the scene was blocked off and students and teachers from a nearby school were evacuated.

Authorities planned to inspect the scene after the fire had been brought under control.
