STORYLINE:

On Monday, transport hubs in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka were crowded with tens of thousands of passengers making their way home for the Eid al-Fitr festival. 

While some opted for public transport, others, in private vehicles, hurriedly did their last-minute shopping before embarking on their journey.

Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, will be celebrated in Bangladesh on or around April 11, depending on the sighting of the new moon.
