On April 8th, at 2:11 PM, a frantic call for help prompted swift action from law enforcement officers who rushed to 7000 S Ainsworth following reports of a juvenile in distress at Wapato Lake. Arriving at the scene within moments, officers found the juvenile struggling in the water, approximately twenty to thirty feet from the shoreline.

Without hesitation, three officers sprang into action, braving the chilly waters to rescue the endangered individual. One officer, clad in full police gear, dove beneath the surface to reach the juvenile and guide them towards safety. Through coordinated efforts, they successfully brought the juvenile to shore, where additional officers provided immediate medical assistance until the arrival of Tacoma Fire Department personnel.

While the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain shrouded in mystery, the quick and courageous response of the officers undoubtedly averted a potential tragedy. The rescued juvenile was promptly transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
