China: Police Heroically Rescue Trapped Villagers Amid Hunan Flood Crisis
Yueyang, China - July 01, 2024
On the morning of July 1st, a dramatic rescue unfolded in Jia Pian Village, San Yang Township, Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, as floodwaters engulfed a pig farm, trapping individuals inside. The Pingjiang Police's San Yang Police Station swiftly responded to an urgent call for help during their patrol.
Upon arrival, officers found the farm surrounded by swiftly rising floodwaters, posing a perilous situation for those unable to swim. With water levels rapidly rising and the farm becoming inundated, the scene was dire. Quick to act, assistant policeman Zhang Gengshen, known for his swimming prowess, courageously navigated through the waters with a lifebuoy. He secured the lifebuoy around the stranded individual, providing vital support as they were safely guided back to shore by police and locals pulling on a rescue rope.
By the time the rescue operation concluded, the floodwaters had completely submerged the farm's roof. Fortunately, due to the timely response and heroic efforts, no casualties were reported.
