The US Coast Guard performed a high-staked medical evacuation operation from a Disney Fantasy cruise ship northwest of Puerto Rico on April 15.

The patient, identified as a 35-year-old US citizen, was swiftly airlifted to safety and transported to the Centro Medico Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she could access a higher level of medical care.

In a daring display of coordination and expertise, the United States Coast Guard successfully executed a medical evacuation operation from the Disney Fantasy cruise ship, situated approximately 180 miles northwest of Puerto Rico. On April 15, 2024, a Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew, operating from Air Station Borinquen, collaborated closely with the cruise ship's crew to facilitate the evacuation of a pregnant woman experiencing health complications.
