STORYLINE:
According to EgyptAir in a statement, the national carrier resumed flights on the Cairo-Dubai route on Thursday after severe weather in Dubai forced a temporary suspension.
The airline halted flights on Wednesday due to heavy rains that disrupted air traffic at Dubai International Airport, causing diversions of incoming flights.
The statement said that "air traffic has begun to return to normal, allowing us to resume operations on this route."
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) observed unprecedented rainfall on Tuesday, marking the highest recorded rainfall in the last 75 years since climate records started in 1949.
