Dubai police direct traffic during severe floods
Police direct traffic during torrential floods in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on April 17.
Officers said that across the Persian Gulf region, including in Oman, at least 24 people have been killed by the floods.
An estimated 25cm of rain - around twice the UAE's yearly average - fell in a single day, leaving much of the city's outdoor infrastructure underwater.
The Dubai International Airport was thrown into chaos with arrivals diverted and departing flights cancelled.
