Firefighters freed a toddler's finger trapped in metal in northern China.

The video was filmed in Xingtai City in Hebei Province on March 22.

A toddler's finger got trapped in a metal sheet in the emergency room of a local county hospital. Responding immediately, two fire trucks and eight rescue personnel from the Yuanze Road fire station were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, it was revealed that the child, while playing, had accidentally lodged their left index finger in a small hole of a metal sheet, resulting in bleeding.

The fire and rescue team sprang into action: one firefighter stabilised the metal while another used an angle grinder to carefully cut around the trapped finger. After making an initial cut, pliers were used to widen the gap, providing more space for the rescue operation.

Throughout the ordeal, the frightened toddler cried out, prompting rescue personnel and the child’s mother to soothe the child’s emotions. To prevent further injury during the operation, the rescuers wrapped the finger in gauze.

As the cutting neared the finger, the task became more challenging, requiring constant adjustments and tool changes. After more than 40 minutes of intense effort, the child’s finger was successfully freed.

The toddler's finger was assessed and found to be relatively unharmed. After ensuring the child was in stable condition, the rescue team handed over care to the medical staff and returned to their station.

现场询问情况得知，是一名幼童玩耍时不慎将左手食指卡在铁片的小洞内，且手指有出血现象。消防救援人员迅速展开救援，一名救援人员固定铁片，另一名救援人员先使用角磨机对铁片外围进行切割，随后使用尖嘴钳扩大切割缝隙，有更大的救援空间。
期间幼童害怕哭喊，救援人员和幼童母亲一起稳定她的情绪。在救援过程中为防止工具对幼童造成二次伤害，救援人员使用纱布保护手指，可越靠近手指处越是难以切割，救援人员一边调整位置，一边切换工具，经过四十多分钟的紧张救援，幼童手指顺利脱困。确认幼童手指并无大碍后，交接现场医护人员返回队站。
