Rescuing and training cat Gek to descend from perilous heights
On May 19, 2022, in Irkutsk, located in the Lake Baikal region of Russia, the @CatRescueService shared a remarkable video capturing the rescue of a cat named Gek. The feline had been missing for two days, found perched atop a pole a few hundred meters from home, seeking refuge from a neighboring dog. Rather than simply retrieving Gek, the rescuer opted to train the cat to descend on its own. This decision proved fruitful, as Gek quickly adapted to the process. Upon revisiting the area later, the cat's owners reported that Gek had mastered the skill, confidently navigating both ascent and descent.
