The Day of Sant Jordi, patron saint of Catalonia, is a festival that over the years has acquired a tone of protest for Catalan culture. For this reason, many balconies in the city are decorated with the senyera, as happens on other important dates throughout the country. The central elements of the celebration are culture and love - represented with the book and the rose - and in Barcelona the main meeting point is located on La Rambla, which is filled to the brim with stalls of booksellers and florists. During Sant Jordi it is common to find books in all the languages spoken in Catalonia, but there are many stalls specialized in books in Catalan, because it is considered a day of promotion and defense of Catalan culture and language.
