Surrey, BC, Canada - May 5, 2024

Three accused killers of Surrey, BC Sikh Leader, Hardeep Singh Nijjar will appear in the courthouse pictured in the footage Tuesday May 07, 2024. It is expected that the appearance will be brief and put over to another date in order to allow the accused to obtain and consult legal counsel. Given the high profile of the case, the risk to public safety and the risk of flight from prosecution, in addition to the three also being potentially linked to three other Canadian murders including that of an 11-year-old Edmonton, Albert Boy, all three will probably remain in custody at the Surrey Pre-Trial Services Centre. Videos in this batch also illustrate the proximity of the two facilities. As such, the accused are expected to be transported from the pre-trial centre to the courthouse via an underground tunnel for security and to prevent the media from obtaining views of the accused.

The three suspects who are in custody are Indian Nationals who are in Canada on Student Visas. It is alleged that they committed the assassination of Mr. Nijjar at the behest of the Government of India. Nijjar was labelled as a terrorist and enemy of the state by the Indian Government and is believed to have sanctioned the murder on Canadian soil in June of 2023.

The accused and ages are:
Karan Brar, 22.
Kamalpreet Singh, 22.
Karanpreet Singh, 28.
