A breathtaking show of the Northern Lights, commonly referred to as the Aurora Borealis, took place on May 10, 2024, as a result of the most significant space weather event that has taken place in the last twenty years.

Starting on May 8, 2024, three Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) that were caused by X-Class flares started traveling away from the sun, toward earth. Then, on May 9, 2024, it was revealed that three additional coronal mass ejections were traveling toward earth. Aurora was seen as far south as Florida, USA, as a result of the impact of the first three events, which caused a strong G4 level storm.

On May 10, 2024, at around noon, an X-Class flare was responsible for the launch of a seventh coronal mass ejection (CME) that was directed at earth. The duration of this event will be extended over a number of days, and it will be accompanied by a bright aurora borealis as well as the likelihood of disruptions to the services provided by utility companies.
