USA: Double Shooting in Van Nuys, LA
05/16/2024 02:35 am (GMT-0700) | VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELE
Two men were shot Thursday morning in an area near the front of Walmart located in the 8300 block of Van Nuys Boulevard. LAPD Mission Division officers responded to an "assault with a deadly weapon shooting" call with multiple victims at Roscoe Boulevard and Tobias Avenue. Officers located a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg at the location. LAFD transported him to a local area hospital in stable condition. Officers later located the second victim at approximately 3:35 a.m., when LAPD officers received a second report of a gunshot victim at the 7-Eleven located in the 7800 block of Van Nuys Boulevard. The LAPD believes the second victim, a 41-year-old man, traveled from the shooting location to the 7-Eleven by unknown means. He was also transported in stable condition by LAFD to a local area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
According Officer Drake Madison, spokesperson for the LAPD, the first victim told LAPD officers at the scene that he was in the area when a Black male suspect approached on foot and shot him. The suspect then fled on foot. The second victim told officers that he was in the area when he heard an argument and gunshots. He did not see the suspect, but he was struck by gunfire.
At this time, it is unknown if the incident is gang related.
