Spain: Javier Milei challenged Pedro Sanchez, Spain's president
Madrid, Spain - May 21, 2024
The president, Javier Milei, lashed out at the President of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, and his wife, Begona Gomez, whom he described as "corrupt".
"They don't know what kind of society and country socialism can produce and what kind of people screwed into power and what levels of abuse it can generate. Even if you have a corrupt woman, she gets dirty and takes five days to think about it", said Milei this Sunday during his speech at the Vox event at the Palacio de Vistalegre "Europa Viva 24".
The top leader focused his speech on underlining "how destructive it can be to implement the ideas of socialism", an ideology "that goes directly against human nature". "It leads to slavery or death, there is no other possible destiny, to open the door to socialism is to invite death," he said.
Milei addressed the "socialists" and asked them if it is not enough to be equal before the law (referring to men and women) or if they know what is best for the planet, to which he replied that letting the market find "the best solutions".
"This is achieved by removing the parasitic state from people's lives and letting citizens be free, letting them associate freely, choose what to produce, who to employ," he said. "Enough hunger, enough socialism, enough misery", he said.
With Milei in Spain, the Spanish prime minister, Pedro Sanchez, described him as one of the "main leaders" of the "ultra-right-wing international". In this line, he indicated that this current denies science, women's rights and equates social justice with "an aberration", in relation to the sayings of his Argentinean counterpart.
At a political event in Barcelona, the socialist leader also referred to the summit "Europa Viva 24? of the Spanish party VOX, where the president is one of the foreign guests: "Why have they chosen Spain to meet all of them? It is not by chance. They have gathered in Spain because we represent as a society, not as a government, everything they hate and detest, which is feminism, which is social justice, which is labour dignity, a strong welfare state, democracy".
