STORYLINE:

A man in China's Jilin Province has planted more than 30,000 trees within 27 years.

Liu Xiaoguang used to work as a forest farm worker in Jilin.

He began his endeavor to plant trees in 1997.

"As long as there is an open space, I will plant trees, and when the birds come, I will protect the birds. That's what I've been doing. My former boss once told me, it's a virtue to plant trees, and it's a good deed to nurture the ecology. As a forestry worker, I can't get enough of planting trees, and I do it year after year."

After nearly three decades, the trees Liu planted have become lush green forests, attracting more than 10,000 migratory birds to nest and breed here every year.
