The ninth edition of the Ulan Bator International Marathon commenced in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia on Saturday.
A total of 20,451 professional runners and amateurs from 34 countries and regions participated in various categories, including the full marathon, half marathon, family marathon, and wheelchair marathon, as reported by the mayor's office of Ulan Bator.
The primary objective of the marathon is to promote the development of running sports in Mongolia, engage runners and interested citizens, unlock the potential of teenagers and young people, foster endurance, and cultivate physical and spiritual well-being to help individuals achieve their goals.
Additionally, the event aims to encourage citizens to incorporate daily physical activity into their lives.
