Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia, Shen Minjuan, highlighted the close bonds between the two nations over the past decades and expressed her thoughts on the prospects for their bilateral relationship as the both sides celebrated the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties on Wednesday.
China's rapid economic development in recent years has brought new opportunities to Mongolia. In 2023, bilateral trade between Mongolia and China reached 17 billion U.S. dollars. In an earlier interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN), Shen mentioned the closely linked economic ties between the two neighboring countries.
Long-standing assistance in constructing infrastructure shows the strong friendship between the two countries. Shen noted that many buildings built with China's aid in Mongolia decades ago have already become important landmarks for the local people.
Shen also mentioned her visit to a China-aided local development center for children with disabilities or special diseases, where kids can receive quality treatment and care.
The ambassador also shared her views on potential areas for further collaboration between the two countries, focusing on mutual benefits in environmental protection and technical development.

"The early story goes back to the 1950s and 60s when China sent about 30,000 workers to Mongolia. They helped build landmarks, such as the Peace Bridge, State Department Store, Central Stadium, et cetera. Until now, these buildings still remain as the important part of the daily life of the residents in Ulan Bator. Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene mentioned to me that actually, these landmarks were a pride for the generation of his parents and left them fond memories.";

But you can always see bright and happy smiles on their faces. I am so delighted that they are all taken good care of at the center, and some of them go to China regularly for further treatment.";

"Looking ahead, I would like to say the most important thing is to fully leverage the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation to combine the mutual complementarity of Mongolia's natural resources and China's market and technology.
