Purnima Shrestha, a Mountaineer and a photojournalist is welcomed by her friends and family members upon her arrival at Kathmandu's airport after setting a record of climbing Mt. Everest three times in this single season. Shrestha summited Everest for the first time this season on May 12th, second time on May 19th and third time on May 25th.
In 2018 Purnima Shrestha climbed Mount Everest and in 2021 she became the first woman to summit Mount Annapurna 1. She has climbed Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Mt. Everst (8848.86m), Mt.Annapurna 1 (8091m) Mt. Dhaulagiri(8167m) Mt. Kanchenjunga(8586m) Mt. Lhotse(8516m) and Mt. Makalu(8481m) and became Nepal's first fastest woman to complete seven 8000 m Peaks from Nepal. Purnima has also summited Mt.K2 of Pakistan.Shrestha says, She is not doing this for her benefit, she wants to see what female climbers are capable of, it is not for record but its a challenge for herself.
