The 2024 Beijing White Pagoda Cultural Week kicked off Friday with the theme of "focusing on cultural heritage protection and deepening civilizational exchanges and mutual learning."
The event aims to spotlight the historical and cultural significance of the white pagoda at Miaoying Temple in Beijing.
Built in 1279 during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), this Tibetan Buddhist pagoda was designed by Nepalese architect Arniko.
Over 10 engaging activities will showcase the cultural richness of China and Nepal and highlight their historical exchanges and heritage preservation efforts.
The week-long event is expected to promote friendly cultural interactions between the two countries.

"I believe that the program will continue to promote friendship between two close neighbors and trusted friends. The pagoda-style monasteries built by Arniko are the evidence of a strong cultural and people-to-people relationship existing between Nepal and China."
The event will run until June 13.
