Gaza: Hamas, Palestinian president welcome UN resolution for Gaza ceasefire

Storyline:
Hamas and the Palestinian President's Office issued statements Monday welcoming a United Nations (UN) Security Council resolution supporting a ceasefire plan in the Gaza Strip.
The statement by Hamas emphasized that the ceasefire content and principles in the resolution are aligned with its interests and serve the public good, adding that it is willing to cooperate with relevant mediators and conduct indirect negotiations with Israel.
Hamas will continue to fight with the Palestinian people to realize Palestinian national rights, establish an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and realize the Palestinian people's right of return and self-determination, the statement read.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian President's Office said the adoption of the resolution marks a step closer to bringing an end to the current war against the people in Gaza.
Everyone has the obligation to implement the resolution, according to a statement released by the President's Office of Palestine on Monday. The resolution is in line with Palestinian demands for an end to the war, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the entire Gaza Strip, the introduction of aid and the prevention of population displacement, the statement said.
The statement also said that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the territory of the State of Palestine.
