A single bamboo drifting competition took place in Zhenyuan County, southwest China's Guizhou Province on Tuesday, which attracted a total of 38 athletes from across the country.
The single bamboo drifting competition consisted of men's and women's 100m and 200m races.
Single bamboo drifting, which is believed to have originated along the Chishui River in Guizhou, has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Performers need to stand upon a bamboo pole while drifting on a river, a skill very hard to learn due to the difficulty of balancing on a single bamboo pole on the water.
