Chinese cops were amazed at discovering a climbing goat that managed to get to the fifth storey and then needed to be rescued after getting trapped on a narrow ledge.

Hilarious but scary footage shows the goat standing on the extremely narrow parapet staring unconcerned at one of the officers as it poked his head out the window at the property in the Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of the Xinjiang Region in China, on June 15.

The Wutai Industrial Park Police Station confirmed that when they somewhat sceptically responded to the call from a worried resident, they did indeed find the animal, identified as a northern goat, standing on the narrow ledge.

It was clear that the goat risked falling at any stage, and police instantly began a rescue operation.

They said that after 15 minutes, they managed to rescue the goat and were seen carrying it over the side of the property. The goat was then released to run back into the wild.

Police officers were seen waving at the goat as it disappeared into the distance.

However, how the goat got onto the ledge remains a complete mystery.
