This is the moment a young man rushes out of the way as a lorry overturns on a bend and smashes into a car parked outside his house.

The incident took place in Pingshan County, Yibin, China, on June 23, with the footage showing the man peacefully sitting in front of his house and looking at his phone.

All of a sudden, the screeching of brakes can be heard shortly before the red lorry appears around the bend in front of the house.

It appears to be going too fast to be able to handle taking the band and sure enough, it immediately flips over as it attempts to go around it, spilling its unspecified cargo all over the forecourt and hitting the black car parked in front of the house.

Local media reported that there were no casualties as a result of the accident.

Firefighters and the police were called to the scene and the red lorry, reportedly a write-off, has since been removed.

The police are investigating the causes of the accident and conducted an alcohol test on the driver to determine if he had been drinking.

The investigation is ongoing.
