Footage shows the dump truck unloading sand, with its tipper raised by a thick, cylindrical hydraulic rod, in Catalao, Goias.
Without warning, the piston suddenly breaks and comes crashing down on the cabin, nearly completely crushing it as the entire vehicle shudders from the force of the impact.
A colleague rushes over to check on the driver, who reportedly escaped with only minor injuries on Saturday, May 31.
It remains unclear if the incident is being investigated.
