A mother ewe was observed helping her smaller lamb reach water.

The heartwarming video was filmed in Xilingol League in Inner Mongolia on June 30.

The filmer described the trough as intended for cows and horses to drink from, with slightly shorter troughs on the other side specifically reserved for lambs.

Initially, the filmer thought the lamb had climbed onto the larger trough unnoticed, only to realise that the ewe was actually using her own body to support the lamb so it could drink.

Amidst a particularly hot day, a mother ewe was seen assisting her shorter lamb to reach water.
