A woman obsessed with pink spent $5k decorating her 1970s vintage condo in shades of the colour - including pink fur walls and a green shag carpet.

Annie Penta, 30, has always loved pink and maximalism and transformed her previous Michigan, US, home into a pink paradise.

But the make-up artist had always dreamed of moving to Miami and couldn't believe it when the 1975 condo came up for sale.

She moved into the two-bedroom apartment in March 2023 and has spent $5k so far restoring it to its former glory.

The apartment features a bespoke made pink rotunda - a circular fitted sofa - fur walls and shag carpets.

Annie, who lives in Miami, Florida, US, said: "It's really unique."

"I've always been attracted to pink."

"People say 'what are you going to do when you get a man?'."

"There's men out there that want to see you happy."

Annie grew up in a colourful home with her mum, Susan, 60, an artist.

She said: "I've always been obsessed with Barbie."

"Anything super feminine I love."

When Annie decorated her first home in Michigan she painted her living room red and created a pink kitchen.

She said: "I thought it was normal."

"People acted like it was crazy."

"It's just paint."

When Annie was in Miami for New Year's celebrations in 2022 a listing for her condo popped up and she knew she had to view it.

She said: "I saw it on Instagram. I thought this place is insane."

"My mum said 'just go look at it'."

"I went and had a showing and fell in love."

Annie decided to put an offer in and got it and made the move in March 2023.

She said: "My guest room was the husband's office. Now it has pink fur walls with a pink trim."

The main bedroom was designed in the 1970s with green silk walls and a shag carpet - which Annie chose to keep green.

She said: "I realised that was all very high end vintage original."

"It was padded silk fabric."

"It has really cool little attention to details."

She found a designer round bed on Facebook market place for $1,800 - which costs $10,000 new - to go in the room.

Annie said: "I'm trying to keep to an 80s theme."

"The carpet is 50 years old but in perfect condition."

She has also painted the walls pink in her main living room - spending around $300 on paint.

She estimates she has spent less than $5,000 decorating so far.

The apartment already included vintage features such as a working 8-track player.

Annie said: "A lot of people who have been to the place have been in awe."

"It still feels unreal."

"It's fun. It's me."

Annie knows she won't stay in the apartment forever as she doesn't feel it would suit a family lifestyle but she wants to make the most of it while she lives here.

She has just listed the flat to be a photo and video shoot location.

Annie said: "I tell myself this isn't forever."
