Chinese father's secret phrase instantly calms crying newborn
A father's secret phrase instantly calmed his crying newborn baby in eastern China.
Video filmed in the city of Wuhu in Anhui Province on June 28, shows a man patting his wife's stomach and saying to his baby inside, "When I say, 'I am your dad, your dad is me,' you should stop crying."
After the baby's birth, when the newborn started to cry while being injected, the father attempted to comfort her and repeated the sentence. Remarkably, the baby, initially inconsolable, immediately calmed down upon hearing the familiar cue.
The proud father recounted how during the newborn's vaccination, she cried incessantly until he softly uttered their special code. To his astonishment, the infant promptly stopped crying, responding positively to the familiar sound she had been accustomed to hearing during her mother's pregnancy.
Reflecting on his journey into fatherhood, the dad emphasised his consistent use of this secret code during prenatal education sessions with his wife. "I never expected it to work so effectively," he admitted, noting how the baby now recognises his voice and seems comforted by it.
"While the secret code no longer stops her hunger cries," he chuckled, "it's clear she finds comfort in familiar sounds."
