Disabled UK couple left in dangerous conditions overnight after landlord's contractor damages bedroom ceiling
A couple living in Bury, Greater Manchester, were left in dangerous conditions after their landlord's contractor put their foot through their ceiling.
Elizabeth and her husband Christopher, who are both disabled, were forced to sleep on a chair and their sofa after a roofer left their bedroom covered in rubble and dust.
"I live in this property, landlords contractors put through ceiling we have been left like this all night with no where to sleep," the filmer told Newsflare.
Elizabeth explained that the roofer put his foot through the ceiling as a rotten joist collapsed.
She added: "Since dinner time yesterday our landlord not repaired yet my bedroom is sealed off me and my husband are disabled and his cpap machine has been condemned by the hospital, according to the landlord a cpap machine is not a life saving piece of equipment.
"We also have a positive ventilation unit which takes air from the loft and pushes it in to our home this unit has been left switched on pushing dust around.
"I slept on a chair all night and my husband a two seater couch. And no updates as they fail to ring back still waiting for a call since 5 pm yesterday but they went home instead."
