Authorities pepper spray protester at Dublin asylum site
On July 15, 2024, tensions flared at a disused factory in Coolock, Dublin, Ireland, designated as temporary accommodation for asylum seekers, as protesters clashed with authorities. A video shared by @padraig_reilly captured demonstrators hurling stones at members of the Public Order Unit, who responded by pepper spraying one of the protesters. The incident unfolded amidst ongoing clashes and reports of vandalism, including damage to authority vehicles.
