Gaza Strip - July 28, 2024

Israeli forces bombed a school in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, killing at least 30 Palestinians and wounding more than 100 others, the Gaza-based health authorities said on Saturday.

The Khadija School was sheltering displaced Palestinians, and the victims included 15 children and eight women, according to the health authorities.

Local residents who survived the bombing recounted the horrifying moment in interviews with China Global Television Network (CGTN) on Sunday.

Hamas said in a statement that Israel committed an inhumane massacre against the displaced with American support.

A spokesman for the Palestinian presidency stated that Israel committed a crime against the displaced Palestinians with a green light from the American administration.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday that based on precise intelligence, the Israeli Air Force struck "terrorists" operating in a Hamas command and control center inside the Khadija School compound in central Gaza.

The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 39,324, the Gaza-based health authorities said on Sunday.
