Since 19:45 July 28 evening, firefighting teams from the Lucca Fire Department have been actively engaged in containing a fire at an olive oil factory in Altopascio. The blaze has affected a warehouse and two olive oil silos, prompting a continuous effort to bring the situation under control overnight.

Additional support has been crucial in managing the fire, with tanker trucks dispatched from firefighting commands in Pistoia, Livorno, and Florence to ensure a steady water supply for firefighting operations.

As of now, the efforts of the firefighting teams have managed to contain the flames, although the situation remains monitored closely to prevent any resurgence. The fire's cause and the damage's extent are yet to be fully assessed.
