Double red flags issued in Myrtle Beach as Debby’s impacts begin
The ocean on the Myrtle Beach coast is now closed to swimmers as impacts from Tropical Storm Debby start being felt in the area
The City of Myrtle Beach made the announcement via its text alert system, saying that double red flags have now been posted the beach within city limits.
The city added in its alert that swimmers should “stay out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.”
Debby is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds throughout the week with risks for flash flooding and an isolated tornado risk.
