An official from the Refugee Affairs Department in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) expressed gratitude for China's recent support, describing it as highly commendable and of great significance to the agency's humanitarian work.

China on Thursday donated 3 million U.S. dollars to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to support its emergency humanitarian efforts in Gaza.

Anwar Hammam, deputy minister of the PLO Refugee Affairs Department, said that the helping hand offered by China is significant especially when the war-torn area is facing great challenges.

Hammam also pointed out that the Chinese assistance not only bolsters the UNRWA's ability to carry out its humanitarian work, but also serves as a rallying call for the international community to step up support for the people in Gaza during this difficult period.
