Timelapse shows lightning illuminating the sky over Vetroz, Switzerland, as the Perseid meteor shower took place on August 12.

trying to shoot timelapse of the nightsky to catch some Perseid meteors, ... well, clouds moved in and intense thunderstorm in the distance created some spectacular views nonetheless. The storm did not move to my location but was still a feast for my eyes.

filmed from central Valais canton, Switzerland, looking up and southwest with a fisheye ultrawide lens. The storm was located in the lake Geneva region and produced huge amounts of lightning.

the peak of the Perseid meteor shower is today monday august 12th , during afternoon daytime for Switzerland and Europe but evening should still produce some nice "shooting stars" ... weather permitting ! ;-)

I like shooting 4K nightlapse video for these events. IF I catch a bright meteor I can save it as 8.4MP videostill from the 4K video footage, and meanwhile the video in itself is quite interesting, too.
