This is the moment a clever boy extinguishes a mattress fire that erupted after a hair dryer he was using to warm his bed burst into flames in China.

The eight-year-old boy was in bed watching television, wrapped in a blanket, when the fire happened in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, on August 12.

He used the hair dryer to blow hot air onto his mattress when it unexpectedly began to smoke and catch fire, igniting the mattress.

The boy calmly disconnected the hair dryer and used a cup of water to put out the flames. After successfully putting out the blaze, he broke down in tears from the shock of the incident.

His mother later explained that he had turned on the hair dryer because the mattress felt cold, but he never anticipated that a fire would occur.
