Memphis, United States - August 15, 2024

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, a brazen armed robbery shook the First Horizon Bank located at 140 East Mitchell Road. According to police reports, the incident occurred at 9:34 a.m. when officers responded to a call regarding a business robbery in progress.

Two ATM repair technicians, accompanied by a security guard, were servicing the bank's ATM when three individuals arrived in a dark-colored vehicle. One suspect, armed with an assault rifle, approached the security guard, while another brandished a handgun and ordered the technicians to the ground. A brief struggle ensued between the security guard and the armed assailant, resulting in two shots fired from the assault rifle, fortunately without causing injury.

The second suspect successfully seized an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene with his accomplices. Descriptions provided by witnesses detail Suspect #1 as a Black male in his late 20s, approximately 5'7" to 5'8" tall, with a thin build and wearing black clothing and a ski mask. Suspect #2 is described as a Black male, also in his late 20s, about 5'10" tall, with a dark complexion and clad in a white or light gray hoodie, black pants, and a ski mask, armed with an assault rifle.
