A brave security guard returned fire at a criminal inspite of suffering a bullet injury himself. Two bike riders tried to rob a cash van, which was carrying Rs 88 lakhs owned by Central Bank of India in Muzzafarpur in the state of Bihar eastern India on May 18. The pillion rider got off the bike and fired at Vijay Singh, one of the two security guards, who were protecting the cash. Though hit by a bullet, Vijay Singh returned fire hitting the robber and forced him to retreat. As the two men tried to flee, the other guard, Akhilesh Thakur, also opened fire but was unable to stop them.

Police have filed a case and are looking for the two men, who were probably assisted by two other accomplices on another bike. Vijay Singh was rushed to a hospital, where he is recovering. Akhilesh Thakur said the miscreant had fired four to five rounds of bullets to intimidate them.
