Hezbollah has launched a large-scale drone attack against Israel Sunday morning, the militant group announced in a statement.
Hezbollah said the attack was in retaliation for the killing of one of its senior commanders in Beirut.
The attack triggered air raid sirens in northern Israel.
Earlier on Sunday, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesman Daniel Hagari said Israel launched "a string of airstrikes" in Lebanon.
The Israeli airstrikes targeted positions held by the Lebanese Hezbollah group in a pre-emptive move.
