This is the heroic moment police saved an electrocuted jet washer in China.

The device appeared to have a faulty connection and as the man stepped onto the wet pavement, he discovered that it was live and became rigid before toppling to the ground in Guiyang, Guizhou province, on August 20.

A local flagged down a passing patrol car. Authorities, including Officer Chen Feifei, captain of the 7th Squadron of the Nanming Branch of the Guiyang Traffic Police, responded to the emergency.

He had been on a routine traffic patrol when he received the alert.

The cop said: 'His face was purple, his body was stiff, and he was still holding the water hose. I realised he had probably been electrocuted, and as the ground was wet, it was very dangerous.'

He quickly turned off the machine and began administering CPR to the victim.

Officer Chen could be heard saying, 'Hold on, hold on,' and eventually, the man started breathing, to the relief of the onlookers.

Five minutes later, an ambulance arrived, and he returned to his traffic patrol duties.
