This is the impressive moment a cat swam through a creek at night to reach her owner.

Coffee, a five-month-old tabby, paddled through the water toward the man, who was checking his shrimp pond in the middle of the night in Hunan, China, on March 25.

Footage shows the furry creature stepping onto the platform after a quick swim to greet the farmer. Upon boarding the plank, she shook her body to dry her fur.

The filmer said: 'I knew cats could swim, but this was the first time I'd seen it myself. It was both novel and moving to see such a young tabby coming to protect me.

'She probably thought I was unsafe being near the water and came over to me specifically. Being alone on a boat in the pond at night was a bit scary, but seeing Coffee swim to me gave me a full sense of security.'
