China: China-Fashion Trend Predictions
China - September 20, 2024
Fashion trend forecasts help Chinese firms meet evolving consumer demand.
More and more Chinese fashion professionals are leveraging advanced data analytics and in-depth market insights to better predict the next wave of fashion trends.
International consulting agency, NellyRodi, with offices in 16 countries including China and the U.S., analyzes big data to predict the trending color not for this season, but for 2025 and 26.
Xu Fanting, training director, NellyRodi China:
"One particularly interesting point is that for each season, we first predict a primary trend color. For example, we forecast that deep blue is the main color for autumn and winter of 2025 and 2026. And the major trend is practicality, by which consumers immediately understand what function it could serve at just a glance of it."
Chinese clothing retailers are also leveraging big data to stay abreast of the latest trends-like personalized garments-and have swiftly adjusted their marketing strategies as a result.
He Minli, brand manager, clothing store:
"For small embroidery pieces like these, they can be sewn onto clothing in just a few minutes on this machine, turning them into personalized styles. We also continuously update our accessories. Big data are very powerful nowadays, and we always follow overall fashion trends."
Data shows that in the first seven months of the year, China’s textile and apparel exports totaled nearly 170 billion U.S. dollars, with an increase of 1.1 percent from the same period last year.
