"Shenzhen, a modern metropolis in south China. Milan, the 'fashion capital' of Italy.
What happens when these two cities meet each other? A fascinating collision of fashion and lifestyle.
This is an art and fashion museum in the Longhua District of Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Right now, the museum is hosting creative minds from both countries as the Shenzhen-Milan Lifestyle Week is underway here and in other places across the city."

The 2024 Shenzhen-Milan Lifestyle Week was held in Shenzhen from Tuesday to Friday.
More than 200 guests including officials, designers, and artists from both cities attended the events.
15 fashion shows and 20 famous Italian brands were on display during the event.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): ZHAO HUIZHOU, Founder of Eachway Fashion Group

We have invited almost 300 buyers nationwide, and 20 brands of Italy."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): MARIO BOSELLI, President, Italy China Council Foundation
"I believe it is very important to understand well the cultures of the two countries and to ask for the best way in terms of quality, creativity, and innovation."

SOUNDBITE 3 (English):  ALICE GENTILUCCI, Founder of Alabama Muse
"The Lifestyle Week is amazing because it connects people and connects people working in creativity, in fashion, in art, and music. It's a big party for everybody."

SOUNDBITE 4 (English): RAFFAELLA GODI, President, Guitar Advertising & PR
"I really think that Italy and China have great potential in their background.
I think this is a message, really strong message, to communicate to the entire world. And it's an example of how two different cultures, but really similar, could help each other together to make something bigger, for each of them."

This museum is located in Dalang Fashion Town, home to over 700 companies in the industry. The vibrant fashion hub exemplifies Shenzhen's dedication to cultivating a modern fashion industry and enhancing openness and win-win cooperation on the global stage.

The fashion industry was recognized as a part of a strategic emerging industry by the Shenzhen government in 2022. It is estimated that Shenzhen-based companies in the fashion industry have collectively generated revenue of over 900 billion yuan (about 125 billion U.S. dollars).

This was the first time that Shenzhen held such an event in collaboration with Milan, a friendship city with Shenzhen since 2018.

Italian guests voiced their keen anticipation for the opportunities in Shenzhen and the potential for fruitful international collaboration.

SOUNDBITE 5 (English): SARA BATTAGLIA, Founder of Sara Battaglia
"I think Milan and Shenzhen, they can collaborate together in a very interesting way. So we are very excited to discover more. In the future I think we can understand better, what technology can do for fashion, also for Milan, and Milan and Shenzhen together."

SOUNDBITE 6 (English): ALBERTO TRAVERSI, Composer
"This event is beautiful in the city. So young and so active. I think the future is here. The future is in China."

SOUNDBITE 7 (English):  ALICE GENTILUCCI, Founder of Alabama Muse
"Shenzhen is already an important city for developing fashion, with a lot of creativity. So I think everybody has to learn something."

SOUNDBITE 8 (English): MARIO BOSELLI, President, Italy-China Council Foundation
"As the president of the Italy-China Council Foundation, to realize the strategy, win-win, between Italy and China, the win-win, for the companies of the two countries, I believe today, with this fashion week, we have started a new process. And I hope it will be a big success in the future."

SOUNDBITE 9 (English): RAFFAELLA GODI, President, Guitar Advertising & PR
"I think that the business model we have created with this event is a new business model that goes farther than a simple fashion week. So it's a new concept that it's more global. It's more powerful."
