A Hindu elephant idol of Ganesh received the world's largest turban.

Jamnagar-based Eight Wonders Group created the 551-metre cloth headdress in the colours of the national flag during Ganesh Utsav in Gujarat, India, on September 7.

Authorities said the deity statue was made using kantan, white cloth, putha, bamboo, cotton, sand, thread, and grain.

The Shree Dagdusheth Ganpati Festival is an annual religious celebration to bless and protect society.

The team is hoping to set a new Guinness World Record.

Currently, Aditya Pacholi in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, holds the record for the largest turban, measuring 345.25 metres, achieved on August 26, 2022.
