STORYLINE:

A reception was held Monday in Türkiye's largest city, Istanbul, to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

Many overseas Chinese and Turkish guests attended the event, hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul, which included live performances by Chinese singers and dancers and a gala dinner.

Wei Xiaodong, consul general of China in Istanbul, addressed the guests that over the past 75 years, China has undergone significant transformation and is on a clear path toward rejuvenation.

Wei also emphasized that China and Türkiye, as significant emerging forces, share common interests in safeguarding their self-interests, pursuing development, and upholding international fairness.

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu underlined the strengthening ties between Istanbul and Chinese cities. He said their collaborations have resulted in significant successes in culture and economy, solidifying friendship and deepening understanding and mutual respect between their peoples.

A captivating collection of 60 photographs from Xinhua, the official Chinese news agency, was showcased at the event, mostly highlighting the rich relations between Türkiye and China.
