A father was shocked as his daughter flew from Aberdeen, Scotland, to Lecanto, Florida, as part of a surprise visit.

The filmer told Newsflare: "I flew from Scotland to Florida to surprise my father who is currently battling an unknown illness in his liver until he sees a gastro specialist at the end of October 2024.

"On top of all of this, I was a victim of a hit and run as a pedestrian last year of March 15, 2023 when visiting my dad for my first birthday in America after 13 years. (I did spend my 35th birthday in ICU).

"I ended up staying in Florida for 9 months during part of my recovery. My second leg operation was in May 2024 in the UK. When I found out my father was not doing well in August 2024, I made the decision to secretly fly out and surprise him because he needed me, even though he told me not to come!

"My father served 30 years in the US Marine Corp and is a combat wounded veteran being shot twice in his leg. During my recovery, my father was the best support for me as he understood my frustrations of being so active to have my life ruined with the amount of surgeries to get me back to where I am now, including a severely damaged compound fracture on my right leg where my foot was 180° pointing to my calf.

"My father is everything to me. My mother was no longer around after I was two years old. Therefore, I've always been daddy's little girl. The support, love, and every thing in between; he has always been my biggest advocate.

"Family means everything to me and there's no amount of love I have for this father, man, teacher, and leader that I can describe for all the sacrifices he faced while being a single father of three children serving his country from enlisted to an officer."
