Hilarious pair repeatedly crash kayak while negotiating flooded road
Hilarious residents repeatedly crashed on their kayaks while trying to negotiate along a flooded street.
The pair were on their way to the market but the water outside their home had not yet receded in Chiang Mai province, Thailand on September 25.
Footage shows the locals paddling their vessel across the deluge and bumping on fences as they could not control the boat well.
Their neighbours were amused and drew laughter from onlookers as they struggled to make it to the end of the street.
Onlooker Nattawutt Chobcham, who was watching from her balcony, said: 'They looked like student drivers.'
Chiang Mai, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand, has been hit by bad weather, which triggered widespread flooding when the Ping River overflowed.
The Meteorological Department forecasted turbulence, gusty winds, and heavy rains until this week due to a moderate high-pressure zone extending from China over northern Thailand.
Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
