This is the hilarious moment when a young, fun, fun-loving orangutan prepares hay as a mattress and jumps on it before tumbling to the floor.

In the video, captured at Moscow Zoo, Russia, the adorable ape carefully spreads a bale of hay, distributing it evenly across the floor on 2nd October.

Having given this process enough time and effort and ensuring that there was enough hay as a safety cushion, the orangutan rose up on its hind legs.

With its front paws stretched upward, the ape makes a playful somersault across the hay to the laughter of visitors.

Clearly enjoying the process, the orangutan did a few more somersaults to further delight the zoo visitors.

There are two families of orangutans living in the Moscow Zoo.
The first family comes from Sumatra: a shaggy, large-cheeked male dad, adult females, and restless babies.

They can drink tea from a bottle, are very playful and dress up in clothes that are brought to them.

In the neighbouring enclosure, orangutans from Borneo live a little stockier and fluffier but are also friendly and interesting to watch.
