A mum chose to have two "beautiful" unmedicated births and says childbirth is "pain with purpose"."

Casey Isabella, 22, knew she wanted to go through natural childbirth without drugs when she fell pregnant with her first daughter, Aila, two.

She didn't want to have an epidural as she felt it would "interfere with the biological process" and so she could feel an "amazing hormonal rush"."

Casey loved it so much she had an unmedicated water birth with her second daughter, Aiana, now six months old, after a 12-hour labour.

Her partner, Jhen Watson, 24, a life insurance agent, filmed the "phenomenal" moment to show others "it's nothing to be afraid of"."

Casey, a content creator, from Naples, Florida, US, said: "My entire goal was to have them unmedicated - to have a birth experience that I would be proud of."

"The pain levels for unmedicated birth cannot be put in the same category as breaking your arm."

"It's pain with purpose."

"When you're giving birth there is a reason at the end."

"When you have that mindset it really changes everything."

Casey fell pregnant with Aila when she was aged 19 and said it was always her "desire to go unmedicated"."

She said: "There is no shame for people who choose to go that route."

"I didn't want to have drugs interfering with the biological process."

Casey gave birth to Alia in hospital in June 2022 after a 24-hour labour - without taking any pain medication - despite a second degree tear.

She said: "You get an amazing hormonal rush. You feel very alert. You just feel great."

"It's nothing to be afraid of."

"I remember feeling so proud of myself."

Casey knew she wanted to have a natural birth when she fell pregnant again and did more research this time around and found a midwife who would respect her wishes.

She said: "I really wanted a water birth."

Casey focused on her diet - eating lots of protein and whole foods - and drank herbal tea.

She was doing exercises when she felt the contractions started.

Casey said: "I got more rest. I rode it out."

"I went into some warm water. I ate - I'm about to do the biggest marathon of my life."

Casey was already 5cm dilated when she arrived at the birth centre and relaxed in the tub when she had been checked over.

She said: "I laboured in the tub."

"It was phenomenal."

"I ate some snacks. I had some apple juice."

She gave birth to Aiana in April 2024 - without tearing.

Casey said: "It does hurt but it's doable. You can do any hard thing for one day."

"It can be beautiful."

Casey believes birth is often shown as "scary" and "negative". She hopes to show unmedicated birth can be "amazing" if it is safe to do so."

She said: "It wasn't as hard as everyone scaremongers you into believing."

"People said just wait until contractions you'll be screaming for an epidural."

"There is a reason women do it again and again."

"If unmedicated birth was so horrible you wouldn't see so many people repeating it."

"It's hard bit it's not impossible."
