Amsterdam, Netherlands - October 11, 2024

Poppy fields, spring orchards, and street scenes of a Paris with carriages are some of the iconic approaches painted by revolutionaries of Impressionism, a movement that emerged in France at the end of the 19th century that baffled traditional critics, but whose main exponents are today a reference in the history of art.

An exhibition entitled “Vive l'impressionnisme!”, which opens its doors to the public this Friday at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, offers a complete look at Impressionism with more than 100 masterpieces, as well as its impact in the Netherlands and how some of the main pieces of this movement ended up in Dutch museums and private collections.

The exhibition takes place on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of this movement.
