Olivia Rodrigo slipped into a stage trapdoor hole during a concert in Australia.

The American pop star was holding a mic as she interacted with fans before bounding across the platform in Melbourne on October 14.

But footage shows how a covered hole was opened mechanically while the star's back was turned. The Drivers License singer turned back and due to the darkness, did not notice the hazard. She then plunged straight into the 5ft deep pit.

Olivia was able to use both hands to cling to the edge and climb back up.

Upon recovering, she said: 'Sometimes there's just a hole in the stage. That's alright. Ok, where was I?'

The celebrity was unhurt and continued with the show. She said: 'How we doing tonight, Melbourne?'

Olivia Rodrigo's Guts World Tour is the American singer-songwriter's first major concert tour, which started in February. Tickets have been in high demand and sold out in days.
